Aspire PR is delighted to announce that we are now working with Maaree, a rising star in women’s sports performance apparel and a game-changing brand in its sports bra patented technology. Kicking off with a focus on its Limited Edition pink Empower Sports Bra that sees the brand support CoppaFeel! and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, activity will focus on driving sales and therefore charity proceeds. Next up, the Solidarity Bra lands back in stock following its sell-out success in the Spring of 2020.
Aspire will be driving consumer interest and engagement with Maaree and raising its profile through its products, its personality and its founder – a young 30-year old entrepreneur and sports bra tester who spotted a gap in the market and made it her mission to empower, champion and support women in achieving their full potential in sport with high-performing products for them to exercise in comfort and style.

MAAREE was launched in December 2018 and is the brainchild of 30 year-old Mari Thomas, a former sports bra performance tester at Loughborough University. Her mission is to empower, champion and support women in achieving their full potential in sport with high-performing products for them to exercise in comfort and style.
Tired of sports bras that claimed to support her but always fell short, Mari set about developing the first of its kind, truly functional, patented Overband® Technology to minimise upward motion and boob bounce. Innovative and revolutionary, particularly for the larger breasted female, the Overband® Technology is a curved panel that runs across the top of the breasts to provide extra support and reduce upward motion when carrying out any form of exercise. The innovative design and tech ticks two major boxes making it beautiful, useful and functional all at the same time; it distributes the pressure evenly over the tops of the breasts, as opposed to simply squeezing, and creates an aesthetically pleasing silhouette. It is especially effective for medium impact sports.
Continuing her support of the CoppaFeel! charity, in March 2021 Mari will be embarking on CoppaFeel!’s latest challenge; ‘Come Fly with Gi’. Trekking 100km across the Sahara Desert over five days through extremely challenging terrain and conditions, Mari will join another 99 trekkers and five celebrity team captains, to raise over £300,000 for CoppaFeel! and enable it to continue to effectively raise awareness of breast cancer in younger women, men and non-binary people.

ABOUT MARI THOMAS AND MAAREE
Mari Thomas has been interested and excited by sport from a young age and as she grew up, she realised the importance and positive impact it had on her every-day life, from physical and mental health benefits to the acquiring of key life skills. Yet, what she discovered as she blossomed, was that, for so many women, the right tools to allow them to perform at their best, simply weren’t available.
Her career path led her to become an experienced sports brand tester, advising some of the biggest names in the business, however, she felt that for her personally, there still wasn’t the ultimate sports bra out there. Whilst most addressed the prevention of downward motion, they didn’t combat motion in the upwards direction, which meant vertical movement was still a very present and noticeable issue.
It became her mission to design and create a bra which tackled this problem and two years spent designing and perfecting the bra and the Overband® Technology, resulted in a sell-out success of her first collection in the spring of 2020. At the very heart of her business lies her passion and motivation to create products that allow women to comfortably reach their full sports potential.
CoppaFeel! aims to ensure that all breast cancers are diagnosed at the earliest stage possible by educating people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, encouraging them to check regularly and instilling the confidence to seek medical referral if they detect abnormalities. Currently 5% of diagnosed cases are already at stage IV with breast cancer being the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in women under 30 in the UK (181 new cases diagnosed and 12 deaths annually). CoppaFeel! is the third most recognized breast cancer charity amongst young people and those aware of CoppaFeel! are 58% more likely to check their boobs regularly than those not aware (CoppaFeel! research, sample based upon 18 – 29 year olds. December 2019 research) Find out more about CoppaFeel! at: www.coppafeel.org Instagram and Twitter @coppafeelpeople
