On first impressions the OOFOS clog looked exactly as the image on the website. A plain matt black clog with simple but stylish branding.

When trying on the OOFOS clogs for the first time I immediately felt the support of the shoe, not only on the cushioned sole but across the sides and top of my feet.  However, the main thing I noticed was the raised instep, which for someone with quite flat feet felt super supportive and almost orthotic without feeling uncomfortable. The cushioning of the sole is just the right balance of soft and springy but sturdy underfoot when walking around. There are three oval ventilation holes on the inside just above the main sole, which are not only in a great position but stop your feet from getting too sweaty, especially if wearing with no socks.

So far I’ve only worn them around the house as they’ve become my new slippers! They’re particularly comfortable to wear after a run as they offer much more support than a floppy slipper and help my tired feet recover whilst keeping them warm too. I’ve also had a fun accessorising them with an assortment of different socks to give them a pop of colour!

I’d heard a lot of good things about OOFOS over the last few years, so I was really excited to give them a go. My first experience was with the OOmg Mesh low, which I found to be extremely comfortable from the off…

Lightweight, airy and – of course – very soft and supportive underfoot due to the OOfoam technology, the shoe was easy to wear straight out of the box. Although I have a high arch and don’t have a need for support there, I find that my feet take a battering when running and these have been great for me post exercise and around the house. The shoe has some extra room for when your feet expand or swell, which means there’s no tightness or pull anywhere, even with socks in the winter.

The second pair I received was the OOmg eeZee Mid, OOFOS’ newest closed-toe shoe. When trying them for the first time I realised that the upper felt thicker and stronger, which I like a lot. Combined with the mid top height, I noticed my feet felt secure and there was little movement or slipping. Due to this I’ve been wearing these out and about more than the OOmg Mesh, which has become my inside choice. In light rain and cold, I’ve also found the eeZee to hold up really well (very handy in the winter).

I was also lucky enough to receive the much talked about OOriginal, which I’m yet to properly try, given the time of year it is currently. I have no doubt that, in the summer, these will be a go-to choice!

I’ve had my eye on OOFOS for a few years now after seeing media post about them on their Instagram feed after completing various Marathons. The feedback has always been really positive and everyone says they are the go-to footwear brand, post-race. If I am honest, the name has always puzzled me, and wondered where it came from.

I was absolutely chuffed when Aspire was chosen to work with OOFOS in October and was excited to find out more about the brand, the OOfoam technology but most importantly give them a try.

I ordered the OOrignal (flip-flop) and the OOmg Fibre (their first closed-toe shoe). Instantly, I found wearing the flip-flop was like stepping on a firm mattress which moulded around my foot. It’s not like any other flip-flop or sandal I have ever worn, soft but firm and incredibly comfortable, this is down to the OOfoam technology that absorbs 37% more impact than ordinary shoes, meaning not only do your feet recover but also your knees and ankles too.

For the last two months (and during lockdown number 2), they have literally not left my feet apart from when they are replaced with my trainers when going for a run!  Roll on summer when I can get away with wearing them 24/7 – even on the school run! The OOmg Fibre shoe arrived just before our eeZee media launch event and again, I was not disappointed when slipping on to my feet.

This is the flip-flop but with added extras! Whilst the shoe still provides amazing support, it can be worn with or without socks meaning it looks good paired with jeans or running leggings. Now that I have lived with these shoes for a couple of months, I can’t imagine anything else on my feet post-run or simply wearing WFH.

Oh, and where did the name come from? It’s pretty obvious to me now, it’s the feeling of ‘OO’ when you step into a pair!
